When it comes to sandals, most men are more concerned about function rather than appearance.  Not that men don’t like fashionable shoes, it’s just that men are more concerned about thngs like fit and traction.

Men don’t end to have as many shoes as women–their culture simply does not demand as much variety.  A pair of dress shoes, casual shoes, a couple of pairs of sports shoes, boots and some sandals generally make for a complete men’s shoe closet.

Men’s sandals are generally for sports events or casual summer fun.  These can consist of something as simple as flip flops or slide-in sandals, or be sandals with heel straps.  Most men want their sandals to be easy to get on and off while offering the right amount of protection, comfort and grip.

Today’s market offers a lot more choice in men’s sandals, ranging from to gladiator style sandals, to Chacos and Tevas or simple beach style sandals.

For men with larger feet there are also brands that offer wide mens sandals for better comfort.  In general, men can find any look and feel in sandals they desire on today’s market.  With such variety, men are turning more to the simple sandal as a shoe of choice under both casual and more formal settings.

I REALLLLLY want a pair of Betula Birkenstocks 2 strap sandals in the Taupe color, but i swear ive looked on every fricken website and i can find the ones i want, but absolutely NONE in my size. NONE. no joke. Every place i look. No womens 8 1/2 or 9 ANYWARE! And i really want them! People have smelly feet that they rarely can smell themselves. Jesus Christ and the people who lived in ancient times had little choice. And to counter this stench that makes many people with a sensitive nose sick (myself included), they constantly washed their feet.

When you cover up your feet, you are putting the comfort of others in front of yours. Yeah, I am sure wearing open shoes makes you feel good. But taking the time to think about the comfort of others above your own is part of what makes this path great.

If all you have to wear are flip flop or sandals, by all means go to church in them and ask one of the brethren for shoes. If you have an option that covers your stinky feet and makes it more comfortable for others, do that.

Lazy people showing up to church with stinky feet and beach clothing are not people thinking about others. It is all about them.

Added: Didn’t like that answer? Well, being a victim of consumer culture makes you hate anyone who shoots straight with you. Unless they are offering you 20% off, calling you "sir" and "ma’am", and pandering to your every need, they are a "big meany".

I saw a guy show up to church with a baseball cap a few months ago. I came up to shake his hand during the meet and greet. After he told me his name I said, "Oh, _______ who wears his baseball hat to church. I won’t forget that name."

His wife turned red with shame. He then had the gall to look me in the eye and say "Jesus wanted me to wear my baseball cap to church today." A moment of uncomfortable silence fell between us. Nothing I could say would have let him sit with the words he had just blurted out.

He does not wear his baseball hat to church any more.

Added: This is not liked by the flip flop sect of Christians. The "just have fun and who cares what others think" crowd hates when I talk about this subject. These types tend to be drawn to the internet, go figure.

I’d go for a long necklace, that has similar colours to the dress, with wooden styled bracelets, & a straw hat, for an everyday look, or for a going out time, i would try plain and simple accessories, with a darker shade bag, hope this helps
